If you don't have the Acrobat Reader installed, it's free and available from Adobe. It's available for all major operating system platforms. (Windows, Mac OS)

Click the button to get the free Acrobat Reader now!

Once the Acrobat Reader is installed, clicking on a "PDF" (Portable Document Format) file will automatically open the Reader within your web browser! In Netscape or Internet Explorer, a new button bar will appear at the top of your page, and underneath it the PDF document will appear exactly as it was originally designed. (Many scientific journals are using PDF format for online reprints, since the printed version of the article is then identical to a photocopy of the printed journal!).

IMPORTANT: once you have a PDF document visible on your screen, you can print it; for some web browsers it's necessary to use the Acrobat Reader's print button, NOT your web browser's print command!
